The SBS OneSource Story
Always find a way to say yes to a request.
If you asked a 14-year old Chris Dias on his first day in the lumber business where he would be 40 years later, he likely would have told you “right here.” “Right here” is SBS OneSource, where he is President and Owner. SBS OneSource started as Specialty Builders’ Supply in 2001 in Brewster, MA as a supplier of exterior products for the home building industry on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. Chris was the only employee. Fast forward 19 years later to 2020, where Chris heads a team of over 50 professionals who cover not only the Cape and the Vineyard but most of MA with a wide range of home building products that include many exclusive window and door lines.
How did Chris know that this is where he would currently be? It’s because he is intensely focused with a business physique that comes from working hard, not working out. Everything has a purpose and leads to the next level of success. Chris’ larger than life personality has always made it easy to build relationships but the work that goes into maintaining and growing those relationships both personally and professionally is his legacy. He has instilled in each and every person at SBS to always find the way to say “yes” to a request. He doesn’t just say it, he lives it, and always sets the example.
SBS OneSource was born out of a focus on providing architects with industry leading products to specify and providing builders the flexibility and support that they need from a supplier. From the original office and warehouse space in Brewster, SBS has expanded to include an extremely unique Window and Door Showroom in Pembroke to a full-service Lumber Yard in Vineyard Haven. Architectural products that builders appreciate all supported by a team of gifted people who are committed to both.
The strength of SBS is the unique personnel who execute the “Say Yes” mantra. In the Window and Door Division, Marc Lima is one of the most detail oriented fenestration experts you could find. He has intimate knowledge of the Martha’s Vineyard market and wears his total commitment to customer satisfaction on his sleeve. Freddy Maguire is a well-seasoned 25+ year window & door salesperson who can properly identify the correct product for any type of project and make it happen. Narcisa Dervishevikj is in her 6th full year of Window and Door Sales and has broken all SBS records for success in a short time frame. Her easy and friendly demeanor with her keen sense of understanding products and projects helps her to quickly develop trust and confidence and then she delivers. Add to this Christine Ayotte, who’s experience in the housing sector and attention to detail is invaluable, industry veteran Craig Fischer, who brings a wealth of experience specifying windows and doors for over 20 years for a national brand and Randy Cook, who’s sales experience in the building materials industry benefits his clients in a very big way.
The SBS team is very diverse and unique, and while the vast majority are local to Massachusetts, in keeping with current work environments, some work remotely from different states. Greg Persbacker, who was the second employee of SBS (after Chris), has built his second career leading the team (he was in NYC finance) while keeping the ship steady from his home office in Eastern New York. Andrea Bohmfalk, the heartbeat of Sales and Service, handles her significant position from Texas. From the Cape, Mike Blatz makes shipping and delivery happen every hour of every day.
Kelly Roy spends time on both the Cape and Vineyard managing purchasing & inventories of millwork and building supplies and team leading. While looking after the fastest growing division, Architectural Windows and Doors, Director Kendra Likely leads the sales team of fenestration pros that work with architects and builders to specify the right product for the job. Regardless of where the work is being done, it is always executed with Dias’ “Customer First” mentality: Say Yes!
